We will once again be participating in Kids Day for Conservation at the Benton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 3^rd from 10 am – 4 pm.  This year, Greenbelt’s activity involves the Willamette River. 

What lives in the Willamette River?  What do you do on the Willamette River for fun? 

Kids and their families will draw on a 4’ X 20’ mural in response the questions above.   Children will be supplied with crayons and washable markers.

This mural will

• Help folks identify species that live in the river, including the riparian and floodplain.
• Raise the awareness of how a river serves several functions to sustain life as long as we respect the river and take care of it for future generations. 

We need volunteers to staff the table to assist with crafts and supervise the visitors to the tables.  If you would like to sign up for one of the two-hour slots, that would be GREAT!!!  If you would prefer to only volunteer for one hour, we welcome your time.  So far, I have 2 volunteers that have committed but always welcome your time.
