Yes, you do! The Power of the Spoken Word. When we speak out TRUTH those words have the power to change lives and community.
Reading a great little book by Kimberly Daniels. The Name of her ministry is; "Spoke Word."
All around us, everywhere, in this season there are words. And words and words. Many unhelpful. Most unedifying. Let us put words in perspective.
"In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1"1, NLT
If we are going to speak words, then let us speak Truth from THE Word. Let us first remember this scripture; "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10). When we are still we can hear and see GOD's attributes more clearly...and be in awe.
"Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. GOD is in Heaven and you are on earth. So let your words be few." Ecc 5:2, NIV
Words are so important. So when we are using them, let us be using them well. One way to use them well is to make bold declarations of Truth. Prayers for our land.
Pray for HUGE issues.
Today, lets focus on people who are homeless. I'll be 'para phrasing' some words from the above mentioned book. Prayers. "Father God, in the Name of Jesus I pray for every person who has become a victim of the streets...we lift up the homeless, the mentally ill, the fugitive, the run away and we proclaim salvation for each one...we ask for healing in brokenness that has led to the streets. Addictions, fears, feeling a lack of being able to cope...we ask you to pull down strongholds over our communities that ensnare people. We proclaim freedom....we thank you for the Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, and other gifted individuals you are going to deliver from the streets! We thank you that as they are delivered you will raise them up to minister to your people....and increase their vision of your Kingdom!
We decree that every assignment over the lives of people who are bound on the streets is being broken even now, in Jesus' Name...and for His glory! We pray for deliverance, healing and transformation...because GOD desires this for each one He dearly loves...."
Will you join in prayer proclamations for all of the difficult, ugly situations we are seeing in these days? GOD is greater! YOUR Spoken Words can have POWER as used for His purposes and glory. Let's be about filling those 'prayer bowls up!'
