Love INC volunteers are "Not looking to (only) their own interests...but also to the interests of others.” (Phil 2:4).
Your Firewood Team is still able to meet requests and have delivered several loads of wood recently. This is a huge blessing to people needing to stay warm - which is something that doesn’t change when the world does.
Your Personal Hygiene Ministry Team is putting together ‘baskets' filled with basic hygiene items for clients, when requested. Although delivery of the items looks different in this season, this is a tangible need that can make all the difference for many families in our community.
Your Linen Ministry volunteers continue to meet emergency requests as they are able. This is usually for people who are older or disabled in some way, truly needing more warmth and comfort.
Our Call Center remains open as our staff is able to work within social distancing guidelines to speak with people in need of care and prayer. The need for speaking Hope and Truth into lives has been magnified in these days.
Our Durable Medical Equipment Ministry is quite active. We receive requests almost every day for medical items. Often we are able to direct people to our Med Shed during its open hours on Thursday mornings. Just recently we heard from an individual who was blessed by this Gap Ministry. Her 19 year old underwent a very serious, 8 hour surgery. He was in need of several medical items. Our delivery volunteer was able to bring him the items, including a hospital bed (something that is hard to come by, and expensive!). We later heard this family was in need of one more item and wondered if we could help build a step to make their home more accessible. The same volunteer responded and joyfully met the need. The mom couldn't say enough about this volunteer, and remarked "He was a total Godsend!” She recognized that this volunteer (as are our others), came into their lives, sent by God, to help them. Our God is on the move! We appreciate your prayers for wisdom on how we can serve the people whom God dearly loves!
“…in the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." (Mat 5:16).
Please note: Love INC Volunteers are following all recommendations by the CDC and WHO to practice social distancing. Love INC is able to continue to operate because we are deemed an essential helping entity & citizens are allowed to leave their homes in order to care for others. When delivering items, volunteers leave them outside homes and pray with individuals over the phone, or drop items at the Love INC Office where they can be picked up in a separate entryway. Individuals that stop at the Med Shed are asked to remain in their vehicles while volunteers assist them. We assure you, we are taking the health of our volunteers and community members very seriously and are honored to continue to mobilize Churches to transform lives & communities, In the Name of Christ - something we are called by God to do, regardless of the world’s climate.
