Love INC has been a centerpiece of my life from July 7th, 2005 until retiring on July 7th, 2020. I thank God for placing me here and allowing me to walk fully in the giftings he has blessed me with. There are not enough words to describe this adventure I've been on! It has been a myriad of both experiences and joy.
Around the time I was hired, I was asking God for ways to work with the “disenfranchised.” I had a very, very small picture of what that would look like. Now, after serving and growing in this ministry for 15 years, I much prefer to say, “we work with people whom God loves,” rather than with the “disenfranchised.” People whom God loves are often in need of Hope. Over the years, my favorite part of the Call Center Ministry has been the joy of being able to speak freely into lives about Truth and Hope and Light and Life!
I, personally, have learned a “ton.” As our volunteers often say, ”I was more blessed than the client, because I got to see God at work!” We are on the front lines of interacting with humanity and able to offer genuine care and compassion to each one. It is always humbling to remember that we also share in that humanity; we are all in need of the Savior and I continue to thank God as he reminds me that the ground at the foot of the cross will always be level.
It has been an honor to listen to so many stories over the years. I have learned that, when you can put aside assumptions and judgements and look for whom God created, understanding and insight can happen. Imagine a waterfall… Now imagine all the stories cascading over the falls into the Love INC Call Center. Wow! I remember many stories and will carry them with me… but God knows and remembers EACH ONE.
I now have the joy of being friends with people whose difficulties in life I can barely fathom, but can admire and encourage their perseverance. Some of these are people who have felonies (sometimes multiple), people who believe differently than I do, people who are “overcomers" and daily walk in struggle and grace- truly people of all kinds, each one a gift God brought into our lives at Love INC. Each one a person I never would have met before Love INC- I now realize how very much poorer indeed I would have been!!! I thank God for this gift of being able to know so many various people whom He loves.
During my time at Love INC, I also experienced the joy of working with many pastors, churches and leaders. What a healthy eye-opener for me to experience and know the wider church body in all its glory and needs. Thank you to each one who has served and blessed others. I so appreciated being able to connect with different churches whenever I needed more insight, greater wisdom or encouragement. You are all treasures in His Kingdom. Thank you, again!
There are MANY I could thank. So I will stop here. Just know that you are remembered and may God bless you with continued service and good fruit.
It remains a JOY for me to know that GOD placed me at Love INC for such a season as we have enjoyed for the last 15 years. I have been “Blessed beyond measure to do the good works, which He prepared for me to do." Truly, can you think of anything better than walking out your daily life in the Truth of this scripture?
I would like to impart my favorite words to each of you. More than words, these are gifts of God to share with people whom God loves. These words (gifts) make an amazing difference in the lives of all people whom God loves. I invite you to use them freely and extravagantly, like dancing droplets from a cascading waterfall, spilling into each life you touch:
Speak Hope and Truth! Speak Light and Life.
