Love one another. It is all about relationship. There are great studies on the importance of relationships..and Bible studies on the Trinity and relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created us for relationship!
We know that people in poverty are often 'kept there' because of isolation. Lack of relationships and networks. Poverty can be lack of material blessings and also lack of healthy relationships. People who are isolated or apart from others are experiencing some kind of poverty.
The Church has the answers! Love one another...how are we loving our community well? There are so many great ways this is happening. And currently there are now two new ways that God is bringing to our attention where we can CHOOSE to reach out and love 'our neighbors."
Sept. 17th at 6:30 p.m. at Grace City Church, Prison Fellowship will be bringing us an opportunity to find out how they serve the churches so The Church can then reach out to prisoners, ex prisoners and their families. This is an often overlooked population. Come and find out effective ways to be of real helps to these people whom GOD loves. Learn about re entry teams and Bridge Churches and more! Exciting, Hope Filled time. Looking forward to seeing YOU there!
And you may have heard that our Chief of Police, met with the Thursday Citi church prayer team, along with the Mayor and a City Council member. Conversations are happening about our parking ordinances and the possibilities for churches to allow people to vehicle camp on their property. If families are allowed to do this it gives them a chance to re group and 'save' earned monies so they can then return to housing.
Did you know that last year our School District, 509J served approximately 250 HOMELESS FAMILIES?
If churches will allow families this parking opportunity it would be a tremendous way of showing love and care. Not only would they have some 'breathing room' it gives opportunities for people in that church to reach out to them and care about them. To love as God loves.
We know of a church that has successfully done this type of thing with 4 families. All families then became re established. Love INC continues to work with these families through out time. As one Pastor prayed..."Lord, we're just talking about concrete!" What a great way to make a way for our neighbors in need. Please invite YOUR church to become a part of this!
