Several stories this week of people becoming homeless...tough things happening to teens and children. People making unwise choices. A lack of ways for people who are trying to improve their lives and the obstacles to overcome that seem insurmountable. Discouragement can set it. Several clients are struggling right now with having hope...
Please pray this with us for several; ..."Though I fall I will rise again! When I sit in darkness, the Lord Himself will be my LIGHT...God will bring me out of my darkness into the LIGHT, and I will see His goodness." Micah 7:8-9.
(God knows their names. Thanks).
As believers, we have a calling. "You are the LIGHT of the world. ...Let your LIGHT shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16.
The people around us NEED to SEE LIGHT. LIGHT brings HOPE of escaping darkness.
"The LIGHT shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5
We have a responsibility and a promise and His power within us to SHINE LIGHT into the darkness of lives who are in need of Jesus and hope...
"Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are LIGHT in the LORD; walk as children of the LIGHT (For the fruit of the LIGHT consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth." Ephesians 5:7-14.
YOU are someone's HOPE! YOU were in darkness and now you are in LIGHT! Show them the way!
Offering mercy gifts brings hope.
This week we were able to bless a new client with some work shoes, so he can maintain employment. This small gift brings HOPE.
This week we were able to pray several times with a new couple we are helping, as they also help us with some work...they are in crisis. Being available and talking and praying is a way to impart HOPE into their circumstances.
This week we were able to connect a client with a needed resource who can perhaps help advocate for her...again bringing HOPE.
This week I attended our Loads of Love Laundry Gap. HOPE was everywhere. These dozen or so people were glad to be able to have a way to get clean clothes. Smiles were everywhere. And at the end...a volunteer was asked to pray for a family who was there. One in this family had looked mad and perhaps mean all evening. When being prayed for...this one wept...thanking GOD our volunteer was walking in awareness and offered prayers and HOPE.
Attended Prison Fellowship Meeting and it was full of HOPE for ways the Church can truly help bring transformation into these lives.
How bright is your LIGHT shining? Where is your LIGHT shining in our community? People are desperate for HOPE. LIGHT brings HOPE.
"Arise, shine; for your LIGHT has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." Isaiah 60:1
Thanks for arising and shining~~be BLESSED!
