Some brief vignettes of ways YOU have helped love our community recently:
Thanks to all of our firewood volunteers, there were about 45 loads of wood delivered this season to help people keep warm!
Firewood was delivered to a recent widow, in fragile health herself, also to a young mom with children, to another family that deals with health issues, to older seniors in need . . . and the list goes on. People are always relieved and happy to get this help.
A volunteer has been helping a senior with health issues. The volunteer is faithful in visiting and also bringing needed items to this dear one. This feisty lady is now pursuing God in her later years and is so refreshingly honest about it all. Thanks for praying for her.
We were recently able to assist a new family in some very needed
ways. The husband clearly and kindly (with respect) states he is not a Christian. We believe his partner is. Although born in another country, they have lived here for decades. We are thankful for the volunteer who could do a minor repair on their vehicle so they are able to have continued transportation.
A family that is newly out of being homeless visited one of our kitchen closets. They were so happy to find many needed items. They are feeling very blessed as they now have a place to live and be warm, beds to sleep in, blankets and pillows, and now 'enough items' to have fun preparing and enjoying meals.
Two ladies were invited to visit our Maternity Clothing Closet and find needed items that will allow them to be comfortable for the rest of their pregnancy. Each woman was also delighted to learn about our Layette Ministry for when baby arrives.
A house of OSU students kindly helped a gentleman with his home. He was 'downsizing' and making preparations to perhaps move when ill health issues happened. Feeling overwhelmed, he called Love INC. We are grateful for the volunteers from the men's house who assisted. He was very thankful and said 'the task is a lot less daunting now".
Another senior gentleman connected with several volunteers who assist him in 'going to market' each week to buy fresh produce. Each one who has met this man finds him delightful. We are glad to help with such a needed, small thing.
This is only a fraction of what has happened this last month. THANKS for involving yourselves in the lives of our Neighbors in Need in our community. Thanks for loving and serving. Be Blessed!
