"All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." (is 64:6).
Sheep in the wind.
Easy to observe others and think about mistakes and choices they have made. Easy to see patterns in others lives that bring so many hard problems.
And yet, I think, how closely am I walking with God today? Have I been still enough to hear His voice? Or today choose just one command and examine your heart...how are you doing?
Just coming from Easter there is a fresh reminding of His extravagant grace. God is not shocked by our sins. He's not shocked by mistakes our clients have made. (Or even our politicians!) Smile.
He invites; "Therefore, repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Repentance is a gift...it brings refreshing! Scripture is clear on this...
"See, I have put before you today, life and good, death and evil. In giving you orders today to have love for the Lord your God, to go in His ways and keep His laws and His orders and His decisions, SO THAT you may have LIFE and be increased and that the BLESSING of the Lord your God may be with you, in the land where you are going, the land of your heritage." (Deut 30:15-15 from the Bible in Basic English).
GOD desires the best for us...and when we are walking in His ways good fruit is more likely to happen. Favor is more likely to be given. YES, their is still yucky stuff that happens, because we live on planet Earth. And this scripture is CLEAR about choosing life.
When people are able to receive HOPE from the TRUTH of scriptures, transformation can happen. What a great way to be praying!!! Thanks for joining us in this.
ALL are like sheep...and we can still CHOOSE to come to the Shepherd.
Lord, do your transforming work within all of us.
